New Chief in Edgewater Park? Why no Articles in the BCT?
The following request was emailed to us today.
"Please find out why nothing has been said by the ep committee about Bob Brian retiring as police chief and Gene DiFilippo s appointment as the new chief effective 1/1/2014"

The process for the appointment of Gene DiFiippo to the position of Chief was followed properly. He was the top candidate and deserves the job. The problem is with the twp committee. They once gave jim daley a citizen of the year award and yet at the last meeting attended by Bob Brian, they didn't even give him an ATTA BOY for serving the community for 25 years.
No different that an ex-cop who accepted a plea deal not to hold any type of public office then end up on the Beverly Fire Commission. (and is the "captain" too btw)
I've been away from the Beverly -Edgewater Pk area for many years. I'm very surprized to see the name Gene De Fillipo connected to the Edgewater Park Police Department. How old is he? Is he the same guy who, as a member of the Beverly Police Deprtment many years ago, was accused of various misdeeds (use of excessive force, shooting from the police car while in pursuit of vehicles, etc.)and for whom a grand jury hearing was held?
