The King Five Finger Louie Issues An Edict In Beverly

Dear Reporter:

I am a member of the Washington Fire Co. #1 in Delanco.  Last night, March 19, we had one of our monthly drills.  We took our ladder truck and our pumper to the riverfront in Beverly to practice hooking up the pumper to feed the ladder and flowing water into the river.  As we pulled up to the river front, your illustrious Mr. Louis Crespo was parked on the side of the road with one of your police officers.  They sat there and watched us as we positioned the trucks, pulled a couple sections of 5” diameter hose out and connected the trucks, pulled out more hose and connected the pumper to the hydrant, ran the ladder up and out over the river, pulled a handline off the ladder truck and took it to the riverbank, and flowed water out into the river.  After we had gotten everything running smoothly, Mr. Crespo THEN decided to send the police officer over to tell us that he didn’t want us doing this training because once, a few years ago, a different company had accidentally damaged the street.  Mr. Crespo of course couldn’t tell us BEFORE we set everything up, he was probably paralyzed with terror at the prospect of repeated damage to a street we didn’t harm the first time.  We of course immediately shut down operations and left.  The thought that a fire company which helps his town might want to practice in his town so we can be of better assistance if called upon apparently never crossed his mind.  The fact that we had of course cleared our actions with the Beverly Fire Dept. probably never occurred to this rocket scientist either.  I would hope that the people of Beverly and Edgewater Park would let Mr. Crespo know that they WANT other Fire Departments to feel welcome in their town.  I do not live in Beverly or Edgewater Park , but if I did I would do everything I could to make sure Mr. Crespo couldn’t get a job as a crossing guard from now on.  We here at the Washington Fire Co. value our working relationship with all our mutual aid companies, and we are sure that our brother firefighters understand we will always be there for them no matter what cretins get elected in their towns.

Dear BT,

Perhaps you  were interfering with the Kings business operations! His customers would be scared off with you guys practicing your drill during business hours.

The person who gave you permission to do this drill was wrong, based on the previous problem with the street damage, a sop was put into effect in regards to flowing water from this riverfront area. Unless the order was from 1200 or 1201 Ole Louie was probably right this time.

He could of at least went over and told them before they decided to set up all there equipment and basically almost start the drill. But yet again he is a complete douche bag.

The fact is he saw us from the start as a matter of fact he waved to the officer in charge before the drill started. We not only layed out 300 ft. of 5 inch hose we had another 200 ft. of 2 1/2 off as well. All of which where flowing into the river. We had a meeting before the drill started about 2 blocks away from where Louie was parked. I think he saw us, what do you think! As for a sop not sure about that.

He saw you, hie is the King and all have to bow to him. If he had a fire, he sure will welcome you. Keep up the good work.

not stupid like you said...

So I ask you fools this. If this really happened this way why would a Delanco fireman write you idiots to complain about ths alleged action? I guess for the result he is sure to get? Can't be for fame he left no name, Hmmm could this be just something else you a-holes made up to keep this stupid blog alive?

He's a douche-bag. Enough said.

Is there a reason that you don't drill in your own town? Do you have a riverbank? Is it because you don't want to damage any of your own roads? He may be a douche bag, but I agree this time. The douche bag was right!

Ok, number one, drilling in other is to familiarize yourself with the land and how other towns hydrants and tools work. I would like to know that if your house were to burn don, and the fire dept. in delanco reponded to your house and didnt know operatios in that own and what goes where or ow to conduct hooking up to the hydrant, I guess your going to burn. Which is something that no firefighter wants to see. Im not affiliated with either compnies, but beverly drills in delanco, and delanco drills in beverly, it is in the mutual aid agreement within the two cities, and if you are really that stubborn, then dont dial 911 the next time our house is on fire!!!

Alright, first of all a mutual aide agreement only comes into effect when an emergency exists. As per the agreement, the incident or emergency has to be dispatched (by Burlington County Central) or means there of, with a command officer from the requesting authority requesting additional equipment or manpower. Second, drilling under the mutual aid agreement requires an agency (such as Delanco) to request permission from a command officer from the town in which the drill is taking place (such as Beverly) with the town (Beverly) also attending the drill. Review the JIF or Joint Insurance Fund for further information. If a member of the Delanco Fire Department hurts themselves or had any type of medical incident the liability would fall on the City of Beverly, hence the agreement requiring the Beverly City Fire Department to also attend. The fire hydrants are the same in Beverly as in Delanco, that is no excuse. The only differences might be the water main size which can be reviewed on a map. To familiarize yourself with a district your department should be driving in that district and / or utilizing response maps / map books. Crespo was absolutely right in this case. I have come to find in my career, the one's with the biggest and loudest mouths are the one's who know the least!

Stand By My Original Statement said...

In response to March 29 comment: I am the original commentator from Delanco. Wow, guess I hit a nerve, huh? What I was trying to accomplish by posting here was to inform the people of Bevely and Edgewater park what an insufferable jerk Crespo was by letting us get all set up and running before shutting us down. Hopefully, this will accomplish his non-election next time. In respones to April 5 Burlington Co. FF: I am SURE Crespo was fully versed on all the insurance ramifications, and that is why he shut us down, not because he was arrogant or anything. Secondly, as I originally stated, we had cleared this with the Beverly Fire Dept and of course invited them to participate. By the way, part of this drill was the driving of our equipment to the location, thereby halping our drivers to familiarize ouselves with the streets. And finally, I have been fighting fire for 12 years, and in MY career I have come to find that personal attacts tend to distract from one's arguments.

I must have been crazy to think you guys actually matured enough to leave Crespo alone! Come on, its getting old...time to give up on this nonsense. He is a good person, father, friend, etc. You all only know what he chooses to allow you to know about him. Do you honestly believe that with all the channels and people that his political promises have to go through...that things will just flow smoothly? There are differences in opinion as well as many other issues that interrupt this process. You cannot hold against him, a few failed promises from an election...he is not perfect, none of us are, but he never said he was...he simply ran for office and you, the people, voted him in...he is trying to change things for the better...what more do you want? Grow up and get over yourselves! This whole blog is corny and childish...can't you simply hate on him to yourselves?

Why not take all the old stuff off, thank you very much

Bottom line delanco had permission. Beverly Fire does not fall under Gif and the can drill the when ever the want as long as the call ahead. Louis needs to worry about his own stuff I know the ladder dug up the street but it was better for the town cause the got the street fixed on the coat of the fire Dept so I would shut up and fix the rest of the busted crack head town I have see anything come out of this town progression wise beside the fire depts. Look at the rest of the lazy town workers this town is so damn crooked it could find a honest way of running it if it bite the in the back side. So worry about real issues all crespos crack heads down town he is allways talking to and the cops dont like him either just kiss his tush to get a transfer signed to get out of the PD soooo fix the rest and when the fire dept does some besides their job unlike the rest of the town then worry about them. now get back to feeding the locals more barbacue for votes I would try crack next time might get more vote. Thanks this feel good and hopefully they will just keep paying lawsuits for thier mess ups.

You grammar was so poor. I couldn't get past the misspells enough to read it. I would think that the person(s) being complained about would, the person complaining would at least know how to spell their name. The integrity of your comment is shot because how much can you really know about a person if you cannot spell their name correctly? Sorry, but I think your complaint is trivial and he is probably just trying to do the right thing. Obviously you disagree and that's okay, but I have no complaints about his leadership. I'm sure ruining the streets in Beverly was not on his list of things to achieve, saving them, yes. So I have to disagree with you on this one. Thank you. :-)
