Edgewater Park Committee Kills 2009 Memorial Day Parade

The April 28, 2009 BCT article, about the Township Committee killing our township's support for the 2009 Memorial Day Parade has sparked anger with many residents. The rumor of the Committee pulling the plug has been making the rounds for the past three months, has now been confirmed with the BCT story, see link;

Our soon-to-be former Mayor/Township Committeewoman Judy Hall, appears in this BCT article, to blame the Edgewater Park Police Dept. for the Township Committee's decision not to support the 2009 Memorial Day Parade.

Why is this decision now being brought to our attention via the BCT? Didn't the Township Committee/Administrator know this months ago? If the E.P. Township Committee/Administrator, had explained the funding problem to the public, then maybe some of the Service/Social Clubs (Elks, American Legion, VFW, Rotary, Beverly A.C., Schools and Residents) would have had the time to solicit funds for the Parade. The handling of this issue is just the latest example of the bad decisions being made by our Edgewater Park Township Committee and Administration. Did you get your new Sewer Bill? Did it increase as we predicted on this Blog?

The Memorial Day Parade has been an important event for Edgewater Park Residents and for the families who's members are buried in the Beverly National Cemetery, that is located in Edgewater Park.

What a shame, and shame on the E.P. Township Committee/Administrator for this bad decision.

The cancellation of this years parade should not be blamed on our Police Dept., but is the responsibility of our Administration and Elected Officials. Just look at how they have spent our taxes these past six years. How many residents have you seen playing Boccie on the new boccie courts? Gee, couldn't the cost of the construction pay for several Memorial Day Parades?

To 'My Good Friend'; this story is a fact!, and is just one of the many facts this Blog has posted for the township resident's education and information.

You seem to have a problem with the truth being published on this Blog about our Elected Officials/Administration and their decisions that effect our taxes and the quality of life issues they are responsible for. The other peoples names you keep bringing up, are not responsible for our taxes or decisions that do effect the residents of our town and the towns that surround us.

We will miss the Memorial Day Parade and the Ceremony held at the National Cemetery every year till now. To our vets, please do not interpret this as a lack of support for your service to our country. It is just a bad decision by our elected officials and administration.

Are we THAT stupid?
If this doesn't bother you then just delete the message.  If, on the other hand, it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward it to every legal resident in the country including every elected representative in Washington, D.C. - five times a week for  as long as it takes to restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof.

We hope this causes you to think about what is going on with our Country, our State, our County and our Township. Do we want to end up like Europe or Central/South America? Have you lost your job and can't find a new one. Check out the employees hired by the contractors who will be doing the 'Federal Stimulus' heavy construction work on our roads and bridges. Soon we will be on the outside looking in and wondering what happened.

Beverly Democrats Want To Move Voting Districts to the Projects

(Light-Weight) Luis Crespo and the Beverly Democratic Party Officials demanded that the Board Of Elections move the Beverly Voting Districts from their present locations to the Beverly Housing Authority Office in the Delcove Home Projects.

This came about after the Beverly City Clerk first recommended that all the voting districts be consolidated in the Beverly Elementary School then sent a letter changing her recommendation  to the Delcove Homes location.
The Board of Elections vote was deadlocked  2 to 2. The two Democratic Members voted for the move to the Delcove Homes location, and the two Republican members voted for the districts to remain at their present locations.

This location should make Beverly Voters feel safe when voting in future elections. The security for the Voters will be provided by the Bloods, Crypts, Latin Kings and the Muslim Over Everything (MOE) youth groups. These youth groups can sell their wares to encourage newly registered voters to vote and the increased auto traffic would not attract police attention. The gangs would be paid with whatever items of value they can confiscate from the voters and would cut down on policing cost.
Voter Security at at the New Polling Place in Beverly?

Wow what a great idea for Beverly. With ideas like this you can bet the Beverly Democratic Party will control Beverly until the last addict croaks. By then the middle class working residents will be long gone.

And yes what goes on in Beverly effects us here in Edgewater Park. Just look around!

2009 School Board Election and Budget Vote

The Edgewater Park School Board and School Budget will be held tomorrow, Tuesday April 21, 3 PM To 9 PM.

The School Board Candidates (4) are all running  unopposed and this fact may be an indication of the interest we have in our town and how it is run. You can write-in a Personal Choice Candidate Name if you wish.
The most important item in this election is your YES/NO vote on the School Budget. This budget represents the largest part of your property tax and is one of the two budgets, the Fire District is the other, that you can vote on that effects your property tax.

It is important that you educate yourself  on the school budget, to see if you support it with your vote. Any increase/decrease to this budget will have the greatest impact on your property tax.

Remember that the quality of the school district also has the greatest impact on the value of your home. You don't have to look to far to see the effect a poor school district has on housing prices (Willingboro) .
Please vote tomorrow.

The Dirty Little Secret about NJ, Heavy Industry and Wages

Last week the BCT reported that Colorite Specialty Resins located next door in Burlington Twp will be closing.

Recently the C.E. Glass, Ltd. glass plant was closed and demolished in Cinnaminson, as well as several chemical plants in Burlington Twp/Florence.
Have you noticed a trend that has taken place in our state? Can you name any heavy industry/manufacturing plants left in Burlington County?

The jobs that were lost with the closing of these plants, were higher paying then the warehouse  jobs recently created with the new warehouses that have been built.

Why does this business/job loss matter to you and what is the cause?

The towns  that these business were located, are going to receive far less in property taxes, causing the residential taxpayer to make up the difference. The same goes for the County. So all of the taxpayers in Burlington County suffer. The loss of jobs means that your neighbors who worked for those companies that have closed or moved, had to move or take lower paying jobs in order to remain. This effects the stability of our neighborhoods and our property values.

The politicians are always ready to take credit for the new jobs being created with the building of all the new warehouses, but not for the loss of manufacturing jobs due to the closing of the factories because of the laws and taxes they (politicians) placed on those industries that provided the high paying jobs that used to exist in NJ.

The results of this loss in high paying jobs has impacted the Income Tax receipts received by NJ and is one of the reasons the state is broke.

If this state doesn't work to make it easier for companies to do business here, then we will see a continuing exodus of good jobs from NJ. The new unskilled jobs created by the numerous new warehouse industrial parks, might be good for all of the new immigrants, both legal and illegal, but not for the skilled labor force that currently live here. Could this be why NJ is losing population?

When the politicians passed the 'millionaires tax' several years ago what happened, the millionaires moved out of the state and the state received less taxes from that group then they (state) did before the tax was passed.

Do you think all the Federal Stimulus Money to be received by NJ, is going to change the actions of our Trenton Politicians? This reporter doesn't think so. All of the new taxes adopted during the past five years hasn't changed the financial situation in Trenton and the politicians will continue to do the same things that has caused our state to lose businesses and well paying jobs.

You would think that the results of their past decisions would cause them to change their ways, but don't hold your breath., it looks like they will continue to pass laws and taxes that will chase the remaining companies and jobs elsewhere.

I hope you checked yesterday (April 15 Tax Day), the amount paid in NJ taxes last year, but know this, what shows on your income tax doesn't reflect the sales taxes and user fees that you paid to the state last year.

To see the loss and damage done to our state by NJ politicians, just ride around the old industrial areas of Trenton, Camden, Newark and our own county. You will be amazed and should get the scope of the loss our state has experienced over the past decade. It is of epic proportions.

Fw: Jumped in the edgewater twp. bldg

I received the following emails from M.R., The first email on March 23 and the second email on March 30. M.R. I responded to both emails so I am assuming that your mail server may have blocked my responses. M.R., check your spam mail box as you may find them there.

I recommend the following coarses of action if you were treated in the manner you described. You need to file a complaint with the Township Administrator, Linda Dougherty and with the NJ Dept. of Community Affairs who is the State Agency that oversees construction inspectors.

I withheld the name of the inspector from the post because you have provided no proof of this alleged action.

M.R., in my response to your first email, I asked for you to send the additional information that you said would be forthcoming ("I have more to tell you if you care to hear more").

We decided to post your emails with the names removed so that you would know that we are very concerned about the treatment you allegedly received from the inspector, but we are also very surprised that the person (Inspector) you named, would act in that manor. We all know the person and have never observed them acting in the manner you described. This is why you need to file a complaint, so that no one else is treated in the way you state in your email.

Your name has also been withheld by us to protect you from reprisals.
