Burlington City Hits The Big Time

Another exclusive from The Burlington Reporter.

Burlington City was the front page story in the March Issue of the League Of Municipalities  Magazine. You can read the article with this link www.njslom.org/magart_2009_03_pg4.html. After reading the article you will see what a wonderful PR job was done by the author, John Alexander who was hired last year by Mayor Fazzone to the newly created position of Director of Public Affairs

John Alexander Director of Public Affairs
John sees that the reporters for the local papers, are continuously feed good PR stories that hopefully portray the City and the Mayor in the best light.

After reading this wonderful story about the Mayor Fazzone and Eric Berry Administrator #1 you should then read the story re-printed on msnbc 3/15/09, about the financial realities in Burlington City. Link www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29678722/ .

I am beginning to understand the strategy of our elected officials in Burlington City, Edgewater Park, Beverly and Willingboro.

If you tell the residences what a wonderful job you are doing for their benefit, with well written newspaper and magazine articles placed in those periodicals by the Director of PR, knowing how the public doesn't like to hear any negative or critical information, you can then convince them that the actions taken by the elected officials are not the cause of higher taxes, cuts in service or layoffs.

It is Hitler's BIG LIE theory (Chapter 10 of Mein Kampf)...
"in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their mind, they will still doubt and and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly imprudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all experts liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying." –Adolf Hitler , Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X

A report on Hitler's psychological profile by the US Office of Strategic Services during WWII made the following observation; his primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him foe everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it."–Hitler as His Associates Know Him (OSS report, p.51)

Burlington City residents, I hope you enjoyed The Big Burlington Lie Article, and if you believe it, you should also read; The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. You will particularly like the chapter that has a very frightened Dorothy asking the Great Oz to help her return to her home in Kansas, and the Great Oz is replying very sternly that he will not help her, Toto (Dorothy's dog) pulls back the curtain and exposes the Professor, and the Professor tells Dorothy; "do not to pay any attention to that man (the Professor) behind the curtain, that he is not the Great OZ."

Just as in OZ, the Mayor of Burlington doesn't want you to pay any attention to the layoffs, higher taxes, decreased services, Police overtime cutbacks; so that he can continue to create new job for his friends and cover this up with rickshaws, miniature golf courses and additional public buildings for the taxpayer to maintain.

These glorious projects and new jobs, will do wonders for the taxpayers of Burlington and the improvement in the quality of life of our town– Burlington OZ.

Thank you thank you thank you. Let's fix our city now! Put the drug dealers in jail and roll up the welcom mat for gangs.why are we spending money on rickshaws when the school system is failing, look at the test scores.

thanks for what? What good did this post do? I can't help it if your kids are dumb. City has a gifted student program. To bad most kids don't have the guidence at home to help them use that resource.

You can not fix what is wrong with Burlington, unless you fix the schools. The second comment is correct; the attitude of the parents and students, who do not recognize the importance of an education are one of the prime reasons our school district is failing. The teachers are doing their best, but are fighting a up-hill battle. Just to comment also on the Mayor's public relations campaign; Mr. Mayor, you and Council need to work on the drug and gang problems. Your and Council's decisions to cut police overtime, to spend money for two Administrators, a Public Information Officer and miniature golf courses, sends a message that your priorities, in my opinion, are misdirected. We need police cars and officers not rickshaws.

I'd say John Alexander is doing what he's paid for!

WOW..............
You "can't help it if your kids are dumb?" SPOKEN LIKE A TRUE NJ TEACHER.
Glad to see MY TAX DOLLARS will be paying for your pension soon.
Maybe if teachers spent more time teaching the students, then dating them, they would learn a lot more?

Yea buddy it's the teachers fault that most of the school's population doesn't give a crap about school, has no respect for teachers or any other kind of autority for that matter. It doesn't matter how much teachers are paid. They can't go home with these kids and give then the family life they need. It's the parents fault and there is a whole lot of parents in BC that aren't parents at all. The gangs are thier parents. What the statistics don't tell you is that it's the BC lowlifes bringing down the schools numbers. So what is supposed to be done about that smart guy? I guess we should spend more tax money to raise kids that don't have parents that care.

It's apparent that J. Alexander has no clout at msnbc to influence the spin or lack of it like he does with Laurie Shieby of BCT et al. B.C. ic circling the drain like willingboro and E.P. and Beverly are not far behind thanks to similar political mentalities like Fazzone & Alexander. They make their our case and point with quotes like the blind horse/just load the wasgon comment. They're laughable but it's really not funny.

The cover of the Municipalities magazine says it all. It should read; "Not afraid to take a chance, with other people's money." Buying rickshaws and building mini golf courses; where's the outdoor safety cameras the police dept. asked for. What priorities Fazzone has for his residents. Take a rickshaw down to the river to play mini golf but don't forget to wear your bullet proof vest.

The article on MSNBC's site was picked up from the BCT. The reporter's email is the same as all the other reporters emails on the BCT website and its the same article that was on BCTs front page.

Hey Anonymous, Mar 18 4:51pm...No child is dumb. Children are products of their teachers, whether at home or in the school. I believe that was a very RUDE thing to say about somebody's child/children.

Would you like it if someone told you that your child was "dumb"?

You really owe an APOLOGY! Think about it!

KR - I think it's fascinating that you believe that children are a product of their teachers. Oh how easy it is to blam them. What do teachers get to be with your kids maybe 5 hours a day? Heck less than that as they get older. So you must be one of the parents that think our tax money for schools is a state run babysitting facility? The state's responsibility to make useful contributing citizen out of your kids because you just don't have the time? Maybe you are to much of a kid yourself to have kids and don't understand the resposibilities that go with it huh? The way I look at it these kids are either dumb or stupid. One or the other. They disrupt class, disrespect teachers and don't apply themselves at all to learning anything! In fact do all they can to make sure as little is learned as possible for everyone else too because they just don't care. That attitiude was brought from their lack of a normal homelife! And parents that just aren't there for them at all. Yea they are dumb and YOU are the stupid one! A child is a product of his home and parents NOT the teachers. There is no apology for you because you just don't get it! I didn't think it was possible to be both dumb and stupid. Well that was until I read your post.So by all mean send your little hoodlums to school and hope that someone raises them for you. I guess you're to busy smoking crack to do it yourself.

That's the problem with todays society.Always pushing the blame on someone else because we don't want to take the responsibility. It is not the teachers respsonsibility to raise and discipline our children but unfortunately that is what the teachers have to do now. What ever happened to the parents responsibility?

I said teachers, whether at home or school. Which means, PARENTS are teachers too. Who taught your child to walk? Who taught your child to talk? Who taught your child to love? WHO TAUGHT YOUR CHILD RESPECT? This would be the job of the PARENT; hence, a teacher!

I would NEVER accuse a school teacher of not teaching. But let's face it, we've all had teachers who have been teaching for too long that just didn't care, if they thought the student didnt' care. And we've all met parents that thought it was the job of the teacher to teach their child. So yes! I do blame the TEACHERS meaning YOU THE PARENT!! If a child is degrated at home, why would he try his best in school. And believe me a TEACHER IN SCHOOL knows when a child is trying his very best. An "A" might not be the result but a teacher knows.

I know too many teachers that are very good. I would not judge them. So if I have offended a teacher out there, I do apologize.

Oh and for the record, my children are not DUMB NOR STUPID! The school system was NOT a babysitting facility for MY children. My children have never ever been accused of being a Hoodlum! I have always had the best things to say about the school systems in both Edgewater Park and Burlington City.

So I still think an apology by March 18th, 4:51 is EXPECTED!

Who cares about Burlington City, Alexander & fazzone. We have enough of our own problems in Edgewater Park. Let's concentrate on our own problems!

askes for an apology by 4:51 on Wednesday but sends the demand on Friday the 20th. Need I say More? Tisk Tisk.....Poor kids.

I thought maybe you weren't even worth it, anonymous March 23, 2009 7:22PM, but I have to say it....You just didn't get it (my point), so therefore, you must be one of the stupid kids that Anonymous March 18, 2009 4:51 PM was talking about!

you have no point kr you change your views saying you meant something else. hmmmm you know who that reminds me of? so get back to your pipe I'm you it's calling out for you.

Everyone is talking about Burlington City, let's talk about the millions of dollars spent on the new school so that the principal, teachers and nurses have huge, fancy offices and lounges. What a joke. Good old Burlington City schools offer free tutoring....However, that's only to the ones who are on the "free" lunch program. I'm a single parent. I make too much money for my kids to get free lunches. I'm ok with paying for the lunches. I cannot afford tutoring for my kids along with paying rent, utilities, groceries etc. I think the tutoring program should be available for free to ALL students wanting the help. If it can be made free to some it can be made free to all. After all, Mayor Fazzone and his elite group provide color crayons, color books, cartoons and movies to the "detention" kids at the City Municipal Building. Why can't they do something to help the kids who want to do something with their lives. I have seen one of the Code Enforcement Officers out picking up garbage. Why can't the "detention" kids do that? And, what about the newest rumor about the Mayor's Liberty Belle being impounded by the Coast Guard? The future sure is looking bright for The Hysterical City of Burlington.

Education is another issue altogether. Let's focus on the fact that here we are, 15 months after Fazzone takes office, and what has the current administration done, vis-a-vis "getting 'our' Burlington back?" (as stated in his campaign literature). All we have to show for it is a proposed mini-golf course, $8,000 wasted in the form of two useless rickshaws, more failed and failing businesses, and a re-escalating drug problem. Has anybody walked down Broad St. lately? The bus stop on the corner of Broad and st. Mary's is a virtual covenience store for drugs! If these guys can stand around and deal dope with complete impugnity, what chance does this town have??? Where's the housing plan for New Yorkshire? The inmates are running the asylum.
