3/25/09 BCT Letter to the Editor by Carolyn Moore

You want us to let you inspect the inside of our house so you can increase the taxes we pay?

Carolyn Moore's BCT Letter to the Editor today nails the issues Willingboro Public Officials need to address if they hope to improve the image and quality of life issues that Willingboro currently faces. Carolyn is asking, what impact will the reassessment of homes currently being done in Willingboro have on the five (5) issues she feels are key to the revival of Willingboro.

Carolyn's points can also be applied to Edgewater Park. Next year our town will also be undergoing a reassessment of our homes. We need to ask the same questions that Carolyn asked, because Edgewater Park is currently facing the same problems as Willingboro.

Kudos to Carolyn Moore and the Editors of the BCT for publishing her letter.

See today's paper? Once AGAIN the Burlington County Bridge Commission is involved in a lobbyist scandal!!!!

Gee Anonymous, Did you read the story, because it didn't say anything about a scandal nor did it imply that there was a scandal.

Well, what scandal are you talking about. I read the Philadelphia Inquirer story yesterday and all the reporter said was that the Burlington County Bridge Commission paid the most for lobbyist of all the public agencies in South Jersey. Well the Bridge Commission is not a taxpayer supported public agency. I might also point out that unlike the DRPA, who raised tolls this year to $4, the Burlington County Bridge Commission kept the tolls at $2. They also are working with the towns of our county, to lower the interest on the bonds that the towns use to finance capitol projects. They are also very instrumental with the redevelopment plans being undertaken in the county.
This is probably the reason they are working with lobbyist, so that they can get the state government to help pass legislation that will benefit the towns and taxpayers in our county.
Did you see who the second biggest lobbyist contributer was? The Gloucester County Utilities Authority and guess who is one of the Gloucester County Freeholder Liaisons???? Stephen M. Sweeney, NJ Senate Majority Leader. Is that a scandal?

Isn't the Burlington County Bridge Commission supposed to run the birdges? When did they become a "bank" to finance redevelopment? Once again our freeholders screw us by placing the toll payers on the hook for redevelopment. BCBC =DRPA! They already have a record of paying kickbacks to a lobbyist! Keep up the good work!

anonymous sunday,
Check your facts. The Bridge Commission was established as the improvement authority for Burlington County. They do not lend money from tolls, they bundle municipal bonds for any of the 40 Burlington County municipalities with a guarantee of repayment at interest rates below what the 40 towns could get on their own. This saves the taxpayers money! Before the Bridge Commission was given this authority, the towns had to go outside the county to neighboring county improvement authorities to see if they would handle the bond placement or sell it themselves at a higher cost.
Check your facts before you give out bad information--or maybe that was your intention.

HOLD ON A MINUTE
The purpose of the letter was to spotlight the fact that the people who take care of their homes are going to be assessed higher than those who don't. It's another case of the government making those of us who break our ass to have nice things or have a few bucks put away end up even or behind the people who don't care.
IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BRIDGE COMMISSION.

WAIT A MINUTE
The lady wrote a letter about reevaluation, not the bridge commission.
She was warning everyone that those of us who work to keep our homes nice are going to be penalized and the residents who don't are going to be rewarded with a lower assessment.
OUR GOVERNMENT ACCORDING TO THE CHOSEN ONE, TAKE FROM THOSE WHO WORK AND GIVE TO THOSE WHO DON'T
Sorry Willingboro and Edgewater Park, sometimes you get what you VOTED for.

Just heard Linda had a secret meeting with the union rep last Monday. Her plans, move Edgewater Park Court to Delanco, merge public works with Beverly, layoff lots of township employees, townhall employees, public works employees and crossing guards. I'm sure there is more to come. We must stop her from taking services away from taxpaying township residents!

PPSSSSSSSTTTT I just heard anyone that believes that is an idiot!

We should consolate.....EP does not have enough money to help with the Memorial day parade....What is that all about??? Maybe if we get rid of the adminstrator and use her salary for the parade.....or maybe the town council people should fork up the money they make....

Anonymous said...

Your stupididty is clear with that statement. I have an idea why don't you give up your own salary for the parade? If you are so upset EP spent the money on things like the new sewer office instead of the parade. Better yet why don't the people here donate money for it if they want it so bad. Guess that makes to much sense or something.

My my Mr Anonymous,
Why haven't you responded to the e franklin guy and anonymous 3/30/09 9:29 AM comments on the facts?
Could it be that you are the one who suffers from truth deception! You lack of response speaks loudly about you!

The stupidity is that the township kicked the sewerage authority out...And I pay taxes in this town....I should at least be able to enjoy the
emorial day parade.....this town doesn't offer much else to its residents.
